[SOLVED] York furnace 3 blinks – draft inducer blower motor – pressure switch stuck open

Learn more about heating and furnace repair here. In this video, I replace the draft inducer / blower fan on a York furnace model GY9S100C16UP11H. Initially, I was alerted to the issue when the heat wasn’t coming on. I checked it out and found that

1) the inducer was quite loud and
2) the error code displayed was 3 three red flashes or pressure switch stuck open.

I diagnosed that the pressure switch was fine because if I blew through the input hose of the pressure switch while the furnace was trying to come on, it would light. So I took a skewer and poked through the little port on the inducer and that got it working again. However, the issue would still happen intermittently and the inducer was still very loud. Replaced it as shown in the video and it now works perfectly.
